Highland course. With predominantly flat and straightforward holes throughout, good scores are achievable with proper directional control. From the back nine, water hazards come into play from the 7th hole onward, and scores tend to deteriorate on the closing three holes. Notably, the signature 8th hole features water on both sides approaching the green. On the front nine, water similarly comes into play from the 12th hole, so care must be taken to avoid water hazards with both the tee shot and second shot. The 17th hole, a long par that serves as a drive competition hole, has a creek running from left to right at the landing area of the first shot. Depending on tee position and wind direction, players must decide whether to lay up or clear the creek with their first shot.
