Maple Country Club

Maple Country Club was established in Takizawa Village (now Takizawa City), Iwate Prefecture, upholding the principle that "there is no famous course built in haste." It took three years to construct and opened in April 1987. The course was designed by the late Takeaki Kaneda, a former World Amateur Championship Japanese representative who was well-versed in world-renowned courses. Spanning approximately 85 hectares, the course measures 6,528 yards with a par of 72, featuring Bent grass single greens. Each hole has a nickname, and discovering the origin of each name is part of the enjoyment. With a maximum of 25 groups per day and 10-minute intervals between starts, relaxed play is assured. All courses are designed to make use of natural topography, recreating world-famous courses at each hole. For example, holes 1 "Ichigo" and 10 "Ichie" feature double greens inspired by St. Andrews, the mecca of golf. Hole 11 "Witch's Hill," with its large valley in front of the tee ground, incorporates the overall layout of Harper Town Golf Links in America and the strategic thinking of Pebble Beach Golf Club. The pond-crossing 16th par-3 hole "Zen" recreates Augusta National Golf Club. The greens feature many two-tier and three-tier designs, making it difficult to achieve a birdie without precisely targeting the pin, allowing golfers to experience the essence of golf through strategically-planned reverse-engineering from pin positions. This is a highly strategic course design. The clubhouse was designed by the late graphic designer Yuusaku Kamekura and features a bright, calm, and refined aesthetic. The restaurant primarily serves menus featuring abundant local Iwate ingredients, with "Morioka Cold Noodles" being particularly popular. The practice range spans 250 yards with 8 bays, allowing shots from actual natural grass fairways and practice simulating actual course play. Located approximately 35 minutes from Morioka Station, approximately 1 hour from Hanamaki Airport, and approximately 25 minutes by car from Morioka IC, the club is highly accessible. Nearby attractions include Koiwai Farm and other tourist destinations.
