The outward nine has changes including valley carries, water carries, and holes threading through valleys. Hole 5 (valley carry) and hole 7 are difficult holes. The inward nine utilizes the mountaintop and becomes more challenging when windy. With numerous bunkers, accurate shot-making rather than long driving makes scoring easier.
