Satsuma Golf Resort is a golf course located in a resort highland area in Satsuma County, Kagoshima Prefecture. Opened in 1991, it is a prestigious course that has hosted the LPGA Senior Tour event "Kyocera Ladies Open in Satsuma." The on-site hotel offers views of subtropical scenery, allowing guests to enjoy multiple rounds while staying, and features various family-friendly facilities including a heated pool and tennis courts. The course consists of 18 holes with a total yardage of 6,961 yards. The layout is generally flat with moderate elevation changes, and while orthodox in design, features subtle undulations with no blind holes, making it enjoyable for players of all levels from beginners to advanced. The 5th hole (out) is a wide downhill par 3 requiring attention to wind direction. The 9th hole (out) is a 398-yard par 4 that plays longer due to its uphill nature. Holes 10, 11, and 17 on the back nine feature left OB hazards requiring careful club selection. The 15th hole, a par 4, offers an exciting shortcut option over the woods on the right side. Meals are served at the bright golf restaurant within the hotel, featuring local ingredients. Satsuma shochu and Japanese sake are available. The bath is a hot spring where guests can comfortably relax after their round. Located approximately 30km from Yokokawa on the Kyushu Expressway, the nearest train station is JR Kyushu Izumi Station on the Kagoshima Main Line. Hotel guests can arrange shuttle service to Kagoshima Airport. A practice range with 17 bays and 240 yards is also available.
