【Cart navigation system introduced from November 1, 2019!】Shido Country Club is a seaside course located in Sanuki City, Kagawa Prefecture, with its charm being the stunning views of the calm Seto Inland Sea and Shodoshima island below. The full 72-hole course with moderate elevation changes was designed by Giichi Sato, who has worked on numerous renowned courses, and opened on May 3, 1964. Consisting of three courses—East, Middle, and West—in addition to the East Course, it is a prestigious golf course that has hosted men's PGA tournaments in the past. By car, it is approximately 40 minutes from Takamatsu City and within 5km from Tsuda Samukawa IC on the Takamatsu Expressway. By train, it takes approximately 15 minutes by taxi from JR Shido Station. The East Course, which offers panoramic views of Awaji Island, features the notable PAR4 6th hole recommended for long-drive contests and the PAR5 9th hole where bold shots can be fully enjoyed. The 6th hole in particular is a challenging uphill middle hole, making the selection of a larger club for the second shot decisive. The elevated green slopes downward in front, requiring careful line reading. The signature hole of the Middle Course is the 590-yard 9th, famous as a difficult hole that has produced dramatic moments in various tournaments. The tee shot should aim at the cross bunker on the left side from the right direction, while the second shot requires accurate shot-making while skillfully avoiding OB on both sides. The third shot requires caution due to deep guard bunkers in front. The signature hole of the West Course, which overlooks Yashima and Gokensanzan, is the PAR3 3rd hole, also recommended for near-pin contests, where the key is approaching without dropping the ball over the cliff to the left of the green. The golf course features a 250-yard 13-bay driving range and bunker practice area, with practice greens incorporated within each course.
