St. Lakes Golf Club is a prestigious golf course that opened on July 1, 1989, designed by Pete Dye, known as a master designer in America. Aiming for a New Scottish Style based on the concept of "return to British tradition," the course features gentle undulations interwoven with complex angulations that inspire players' competitive spirit and offer highly strategic gameplay. Located in Iga City, Mie Prefecture, it is said to be the only stadium course in the Kansai and Western Japan area. Car access is conveniently located approximately 8 km from the Haruta IC on the Meishin Expressway, about 5 km from Ueno IC, and about 8 km from Ueno-Higashi IC. By train, it is approximately 25 minutes by taxi from Nabari Station on the Kintetsu Osaka Line and approximately 15 minutes by taxi from Iga-Kobe Station. All 18 holes feature visually challenging undulations and blind areas, with water hazards and bunkers expertly positioned, allowing golfers to fully enjoy the game. Notable holes include hole 2, a relatively long par 4 that long hitters can reach in one shot, hole 3 with its large pond lined with railroad ties, and hole 10 with its undulating terrain and numerous bunkers, which are particularly popular among experienced players. Hole 9 is a massive stadium hole distinguished by its stones, from which a par is achievable if the third shot is approached from the right of the green. Holes 14 through 16 form the "Pete Dye Corner," the key to scoring, which is said to rival the famous Amen Corner at Augusta National Golf Club. A 250-yard driving range with 14 bays is available for warm-up practice before teeing off, and is free to use.
