Officially opened the day after the Ube Matsusan Open Golf Tournament in November 2000. It became the venue for the 2001 Ube Matsusan Open Golf Tournament. Utilizing an expansive hilly terrain of 670,000 tsubo with preservation of abundant natural landscape, the course was designed by Robert von Hagge, known as a wizard of course design featuring water elements, to realize a bold and distinctive layout with only 18 holes. The major attractions are a layout rich in deep strategic elements and visual beauty. The distinctive topography, wetlands, and waterside scenery are preserved as-is, while artificial formations are added to flat terrain, creating mysterious collages of light and shadow through fairway undulation. A new course has been completed that ultimately pursues two themes: strategy and beauty.
