Opened in 1988, Narita Golf Club respects the true meaning of a "club" as "a place where people who share golf as a common hobby gather regularly to deepen friendships and refine their skills," and aims to create a club life where "clubbable" (befitting club members, sociable) people gather. Upon entering through the entrance known as the cloakroom, a concierge is stationed. A security guard stands at the entrance gate, ensuring not only security but also conveying a strong sense of hospitality. To allow visiting golfers to enjoy their play with peace of mind, there is a limit on the number of groups per day, and play is caddie-only, creating an environment where each member can be fully satisfied. True to the concept of "the ultimate club life that only the chosen few can experience," spending a day at this golf course offers a sense of distinction. The characteristics of Narita Golf Club's course lie in its design that takes advantage of favorable geographic conditions. As designer Kawada Taizo stated, "18 complete stories together form one long narrative. That is what a golf course is," each hole is designed with distinctive features. The course returns to golf's origins, with strategic elements such as "bent grass single greens," "strategically placed ponds," and "abundant trees." At Narita Golf Club, the 6-meter-wide, approximately 1,000-yard approach is also considered in-bounds. Out-of-bounds stakes are driven outside the road (on the right side during approach), so even if the ball goes onto the road, there is no penalty and play continues from there. When a road is considered in-bounds, the course that immediately comes to mind is hole 17 at "St. Andrews Old Course," golf's holy ground, also known as the "Road Hole."
