Japan's most historically prestigious public course!! Opened in 1917 (Taisho 6). Located on the Hakone Sengyokuhara Plateau, the course is generally flat throughout. The front nine features uphill shots on holes 1 and 8, which run parallel, with downhill shots as well, while most other holes are relatively flat. Fairways are wide, allowing for comfortable play. The back nine has more challenging holes compared to the front nine. Expect water hazards, out-of-bounds areas, and deep rough, with difficult greens as well. Overall, the course features complex natural undulation combined in varied and interesting ways.
